Nether Stowey School seeks new Governors

Would you like to give back to your community and have a positive impact on the lives of local children?

Nether Stowey C.E. V.C. Primary School has 2 vacancies on the Governing Board:

1. Governor to join the Business Committee of the Board.

2. Foundation Governor.

For the Business Committee role, we are not looking for a finance expert, just someone with an understanding of budgets, commercial contracts and monitoring of such.

For the Foundation Governor role, it is not required that an applicant be a Church-goer, simply that the individual will monitor that the school’s Christian basis is being upheld.

School Governors come from all walks of life and they bring different skills to help our children and our community thrive.

The time commitment is approximately 2 meetings of 1-2 hours every 4-6 weeks plus some extra hours each month to read relevant documents. Meeting timings are flexible to suit the governors. Training is provided and this is a fabulous opportunity to gain new skills and really make a difference to your community.

Mill Lane Road Safety

This is call to action for villagers and residents to join forces to create a safer route to school and the village by improving road signage, speed restrictions and safe footpaths with a 20mph limit.

There will be paper petitions to sign situated at the village library, local shops – the more signatures we can collect the greater the chance of implementing change and even quite possibly saving lives in the future.
For more information on how you can help please contact Tina Muir by e-mail here.

If you would be interested in joining a Community Speedwatch team please contact the Clerk at clerk@netherstowey-pc.gov.uk. More information about Community Speedwatch is available here.
