Big Climate Fightback at Nether Stowey

This year, National Tree Week runs from 23 November to 1 December, culminating in the “Big Climate Fightback” on Saturday 30 November, when The Woodland Trust hope that one million people in the UK will pledge to plant a tree.  By mid-October almost 18,000 people had already pledged to do so. So why not add your name? Visit the Big Climate Fightback page at the Woodland Trust website.

Stowey Green Spaces Group hope to mark Big Climate Fightback day by adding saplings to the Stowey A39 Bypass Wood, which stretches from the Stogursey Lane traffic lights to the Church Centre. So if you have saplings to spare, growing for instance in the wrong place your garden, and are looking for a home for them, then come to the Village Hall car park at 10am on Saturday 30 November, sapling and fork/spade in hand, where Stowey Green Spaces Group will be waiting to help. Please let Roy Osborne on 01278 734604 know in advance if you plan to attend so that the group can be properly organised for the numbers expected.
