Collection day in Nether Stowey is FRIDAY.
Recycling and food waste is collected on a weekly basis, whilst general refuse will be collected once per fortnight, normally in a wheeled (black) bin. In some areas of the village black bags can be used. Please contact Somerset Waste Partnership for details. Bins and recycling boxes are provided by Sedgemoor District Council. Please place your refuse and recycling on the edge of your property by 7:00am on your collection day, and no earlier than the night before.
Food waste collections
A kitchen caddy and special external bin, with a lockable lid, are provided for weekly food waste collections to most households in Somerset. Caddy liners can be purchased from a wide range of local shops.
Garden waste collection service
Sedgemoor District Council provides an optional fortnightly garden waste collection service using either a green wheelie bin or special paper sacks. The annual charge for this service is currently £53.50. Alternatively, customers can apply to use compostable garden sacks, which currently cost £26.50 for 10 sacks. These sacks can be left out for collection each fortnight on the collection day for garden waste for the property. The sacks have a capacity of 90L.
Customers can leave as many sacks out for collection as needed depending on how much waste they have produced for that fortnight. Contact Sedgemoor Customer Services on 0300 303 7803 or by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
