VACANCY – VILLAGE CLEANER WANTED
The Parish Council is looking for someone to do cleaning and odd-jobs to help tidy up around the village’s public spaces. This is a paid position and will take roughly 8-10 hours a month.
The main tasks are
- Car Park: general sweeping, clearing litter and, in season clearing leaves on the pedestrian paths and the main car park areas (hard surfaces only). It is expected that this will normally take up to one hour fortnightly, with more between November and January (weather depending) for additional leaf clearing.
- The Cross: general sweeping, litter picking, and weed spraying of the pedestrian area at the Cross and in front of the Parish Office. Ensure area is neat and tidy for the Remembrance Service and Carols on the Cross. This should normally take about half an hour, fortnightly, with a bit extra during November to January.
- Lime Street: sweeping, litter picking and leaf clearing along the virtual path usually monthly, more in Autumn.
- Trash grilles: clear the Council’s grilles along the brook in Castle Street and St Mary Street generally fortnightly, but variable according to season and weather.
The post is ideally suited to someone living locally who can reliably spare a couple of hours a week. Work hours are flexible and there may be additional work by mutual agreement.
Hourly rate £12.85, reviewed annually. All necessary equipment and products provided.
